Underground Fitness will be holding a special Pre-Season Strength and Conditioning program designed for any schools rugby player who wants to ensure their place on the squad this coming September.

The Pre-Season SPSA Program is an 11 week course designed to build Strength, Power, Speed and Agility (SPSA) safely and effectively. Split into 2 modules which can be entered singly, or combined for maximum effect. Each module requires 3 days training per week (Monday/Wednesday/Friday). The first week of each module has a 4th and 5th day day (so MON to FRI) in-house to pay extra attention to movement screening (to promote balance and injury prevention), strength testing and nutrition. The main focus of our course is to promote more effeicient movement, more application of strength in these movements, and enhanced joint and muscular balance/support to avoid injury. These elements will give the player an enhanced edge come this season. We will also help develop movement pattern for enhanced stepping and safe pivoting, and safe acceleration and deceleration (It is imbalance and weakness that lead to injury – especially seen in unsupported rotation leading to ACL injury)

MODULE #1

STRENGTH & POWER

June 13th – July 22nd / 6 weeks

€599 (6 weeks) – €100 deposit

MODULE #2

SPEED & AGILITY

July 25th – August 26th / 5 weeks

€499 (5 weeks) – €100 deposit

FULL DEVELOPMENT (both modules)   –  €999  (€150 deposit)

There will be seperate JCT and SCT groups for each module. Each group will be limited to 16 players each. (The JCT group will have slightly less emphasis on resisted strength development)

The SPSA program is designed to coach and deliver safe, effective resistance and plyometric movements for the development of Strength, Power, Speed and Agility for your game. Our Personal Trainers are fully S&C trained with experience in training JCT and SCT rugby.
