Underground Fitness is staging group fitness programs for post-natal mothers to help them regain their core strength and pre-baby bodies. Held every Tuesday and Thursday (with access to regular workouts on other days) these groups will help mothers develop their pelvic floors and strengthen/tone their abdomens, while also developing their full body strength. This is all done in a controlled, careful and fun environment, with baby (limited to pre-crawlers)! Our USP is that we will be actually using equipment with you (albeit light to start), but really its all about the fact that you won’t have to worry about training outside or looking for a babysitter!

Our current groups holds 12 mothers max, with classes every Tuesday and Thursday at 10.30am. The drop in cost is €17.50/workout, and they usually last around 50 mins. 


You can also join as a full UF Member which not only gives you open access to these classes, but to our regular workouts as well. Membership is €145/month with no contract length.

We are handily located right in the heart of South County Dublin, within easy reach from Ballsbridge to Dalkey, Dun Laoghaire to Leopardstown. When you arrive, there is parking on site.

How do I book in and pay?

You can use the widget at the bottom of this page to book into the workouts. You will directed off site to register. The first class is free, but sometimes you require a card to create an account. You will not be charged anything.

Can I join this at any time?

Yes, you can enter the group and any stage and start your journey comfortably. 

Ok, so am I bringing baby?  And is there access?

Yes, bring baby in your buggy or car-seat. There’s loads of space for whatever you bring, and there are just a handful of steps (3 steps) we can help you with.

How old can my baby be?

We recommend any pre-crawler age. The workout will be difficult if baby is able to crawl away or roll over super fast. For most it would be before 12 months of age.

Do I NEED to bring baby?

Not at all. If you have the opportunity to come by yourself take it, you deserve the break!

Am I fixed to a certain time?

No. As a full member you are registered into the same group time (10.30am etc) on Tuesday and Thursday. This avoids being booked out and guarantees your ability to attend, as drop ins are subject to availability. If there are 12 full members for 10.30am, then it is no bookable slot unless one of them moves their session. Full members can cancel and move their slot using our app if required (subject to vacant space). You also have access to any of our regular workout times (theres nearly 60 a week!).

When is it safe for me to take part?

If you had an uncomplicated pregnancy and vaginal delivery, it’s generally safe to begin exercising a few days after giving birth or as soon as you feel ready. If you had a C-section, extensive vaginal repair or a complicated birth, talk to your health care provider about when to start an exercise program.

How could I possible take part in one of your regular classes?

We don’t recommend it straight away, but you will quickly learn the tips and tricks required to exercise safely. We also provide coaching videos on what is safe to do, what not to do, and what to do instead.

What do I need to bring?

We recommend bringing everything you would bring for baby if you were out and about for the day. So a packed baby changing bag, and a changing mat is handy to change baby quickly.

What if I am booked in and baby is still fast asleep?

If baby falls asleep in the car on your way here, congratulations to you! You can exercise, and use a weight to replace baby, and introduce him/her back in if they were to wake up.

What if I need to breastfeed? Or do nappy-change?

There is a private area that can be used for breastfeeding, and the training area is held exclusively for our group at that time. There is a changing table then downstairs in the last shower room.

Will my picture be taken at the gym?

No, due to GDPR and their guidelines with children we will never take photos or videos of these workouts in session. That is why we have no photos here on the website or on social media of the groups.
