Underground Fitness is here to help new and repeating mothers build back their foundations, their strength, their functionality and their confidence (all alongside baby!). Our group fitness programs for post-natal mothers will help you regain your core strength and pre-baby strength. Held every Tuesday and Thursday the groups foucs on developing full body strength along with pelvic floors and hip stability, all in a careful and fun environment. 

Unlike other postnatal programs we will be doing actual weight training with you. We will be building up your intensity safely, lightly and effectively with focus on core strength, breathing and realigning hip and spine posture. If this wasn’y enough, the icing on the cake is that you won’t have to worry about training outside or looking for a babysitter!

Our current groups holds 12 mothers max, with classes every Tuesday and Thursday at 10.30am. The drop in cost is €17.50/workout, and they usually last around 50 mins, an hour by the time you are out the door. Also, your first workout is free!


You can also join as a full UF Mommy Member which not only gives you open access to these classes, but our regular workouts as well (which you can blend in when you feel comfortable). Mommy Members are prebooked, meaning they have a position reserved unless they release it. Membership is €145/month with no contract length.

We are handily located right in the heart of South County Dublin, within easy reach from Ballsbridge to Dalkey, Dun Laoghaire to Leopardstown. When you arrive, there is parking on site.

How do I book in and pay?

You can use the widget at the bottom of this page to book into the workouts. You will directed off site to register. The first class is free, but sometimes you require a card to create an account. You will not be charged anything. When you’re booked in we will send you information including a link to our app which makes booking easier.

Can I join this at any time?

Yes, you can enter the group at any stage and start your journey comfortably. 


When is it safe for me to take part?

Generally we look for clearance from your obstetrician which you can typically get from your 6 week check. By taking part you agree that you have been given the green light to start gentle training.  

Ok, so am I bringing baby?  And is there access?

Yes, bring baby in your buggy or car-seat. There’s loads of space for whatever you bring, and there are just a handful of steps (3 steps) we can help you with.

How old can my baby be?

We recommend any pre-crawler age. The workout will be difficult if baby is able to crawl away or roll over super fast. For most it would be before 12 months of age.

Do I NEED to bring baby?

Not at all. If you have the opportunity to come by yourself take it, you deserve the break!

Can I still book in not as a member, but as a drop in?

Yes you can, although Mommy Members get first refusal.  If there are 12 Mommy members, then there will be no bookable slots for drop ins unless one of them cancels their session. Mommy Members can cancel and move their slot using our app if required (subject to vacant space). Mommy Members also have access to any of our regular workout times (theres nearly 70 a week!).

How could I possible take part in one of your regular classes?

We don’t recommend it straight away, but you will quickly learn the tips and tricks required to exercise safely. We also provide coaching videos on what is safe to do, what not to do, and what to do instead.

What do I need to bring?

We recommend bringing everything you would bring for baby if you were out and about for the day. So a packed baby changing bag, and a changing mat is handy to change baby quickly.


Is it heated?

The gym space is large and unheated, although it does maintain a decent internal ambient temperature. If its cold just wrap baby up as you would for a walk. Its never cold enough inside that someone training would need to layer though. 

What if I am booked in and baby is still fast asleep?

If baby falls asleep in the car on your way here, congratulations to you! You can exercise, and use a weight to replace baby, and introduce him/her back in if they were to wake up.

What if I need to breastfeed? Or do nappy-change?

We have changing mats to change baby, or else you can use the private drop down changing table downstairs. You can either feed in the space (you’re surrounded by other new mothers so its a comfortable space) or downstairs on the couches.

Will my picture be taken at the gym?

No, due to GDPR and their guidelines with children we will never take photos or videos of these workouts in session. That is why we have no photos here on the website or on social media of the groups.
