Yes it can! Well, we’re not going to blame the traffic but the harsh chemical running through the air; methane and other petrochemicals.
Sitting in idle traffic, especially on a mild non windy day, can be hazardous to your health. Just like the way you can still smell when somebody let’s one loose outside, petrochemicals can still be inhaled while outside. We all know about the hazard of running a car engine indoors, but being outside doesn’t completely eliminate the risk.
Wind will catch the toxic gas and filter the air quickly, and heat will make the gas raise quicker, but on a mild day the gas can sit so roll up your windows and recirculate the air (unless someone has a flu). Usually bad advice but breathing recirculated air is better than breathing petrochemicals.
If you are lost as to why I say it gives you tits, it’s because petrochemicals are xenoestrogens, picked up in your system as an estrogen. This will inhibit testosterone function reducing your ability to build muscle and burn fat. This will also lead to fatty build up in the chest in men. Undesirable!
So roll up those windows and keep your chest hard and flat lads!
